A Conversation on Data Security with Gary Doernhoefer
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Our guest today, Gary Doernhoefer, has thought about this issue from a number of angles. Gary is the founder of ADR Notable, a software platform designed for dispute resolution professionals. You can learn more about ADR Notable at www.adrnotable.com.
One of the many dynamics magnified by the pandemic is the need to secure our data. We get a lot of it as neutrals, and we have to make sure it remains confidential and is safely discarded.
For more on data security, visit Cybersecurity in International Arbitration, where you’ll find an excellent general checklist applicable to most ADR practitioners, and each section in the table of contents is clickable for more information.
Thank you to ADR Notable for being a sponsor at the 2021 Dispute Resolution Spring Conference!

In this podcast celebrating the AAA-ICDR as sponsor of the Section’s Spring Conference, Ingeuneal Gray and Jeffrey Zaino anchor to the Conference’s theme, ADR in a New World.
In candid dialogue, they speak on topics including concerns about lack of diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the ADR field, definitions on diversity, and how arbitral institutions have led the charges for cognizable change in the practice. Jeffrey Z also spills the tea on the Jay-Z case and how bad press cannot (and will not) stymie the work of institutions to buttress party autonomy with optionality in the ADR process. As Lincoln once said, “I am a slow walker, but I never walk back.” Let’s continue forward: there’s more work to do.
Ingeuneal Gray is Vice President in the Houston office and is reachable at GrayI@adr.org.
Jeffrey Zaino is Vice President in the New York office and is reachable at ZainoJ@adr.org.

Barking Up The Right Tree: Pets in Mediation
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Anyone in the dispute resolution world knows the value of empowering parties and giving them a voice. But what if their voices are hard to understand—if, for example, they bark rather than speak? Karis Nafte knows all about this—she’s a credentialed mediator and an animal behaviorist who helps work with separating couples on the best solution for their pets. She joined Resolutions to explain how her practice came about and how it works.

Handling Conflict Constructively: The Week of Constructive Conflict
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
With all the conflict we face and try to resolve, what if we stopped and reconsidered how we approach conflict in the first place? That's a question that's been on the mind of Rabbi/Dr. Daniel Roth for quite some time. He's the founder and creator of the Jewish Week of Constructive Conflict, which is taking place around the world on February 15-21, 2021. He is based in Israel and teaches at Bar-Ilan University and the Pardes Institute and is director of Mosaica, The Religious Peace Initiative. He spoke about his work and the origins of this unique conflict resolution commemoration.
For more information, visit https://www.9adar.org/
You can attend a live session observing the Week of Constructive Conflict Wednesday, February 17 at 1p Eastern on Zoom: visit https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85615358941?pwd=NUJJVTU4aDM1R1NqdFVGS0FPZ2JEQT09.
